Jose Rizal is Jack The Ripper

Claim:

"Jack the Ripper" is the best-known name given to an unidentified serial killer who was active in the largely impoverished areas in and around the Whitechapel district of London in 1888. He was so called because of a letter who was written by someone who claims he was the killer, however the letter was considered as a hoax. Another name for him are "The Whitechapel Murderer" and "Leather Apron".

While Jose Rizal was in London, Jack The Ripper was present and when he went back to the Philippines, the killings had stopped. It was very mysterious! Could it be just a coincidence? Or not?

By the way, Jack The Ripper likes girls while Jose Rizal was quite similar to him. They both have the same initials too, J.R.

For those who don't know Jose Rizal, he is the national hero of the Philippines though not legally official.

José Protacio Rizal Mercado y Alonzo Realonda (Jose Rizal) was a Filipino polymath, patriot and the most prominent advocate for reform in the Philippines during the Spanish colonial era. He is regarded as the foremost Filipino patriot.[Click Here]

Let's find out...

Legend:

While searching everything about Jose Rizal on the internet, I stumbled upon this summary of his life while living in London.
Rizal was in London from May 1888 to January 1889, in the British Library copying "Sucesos de las Islas Filipinas" by hand because there were no photocopying machines at the time. Jack the Ripper was active around this time, and since we do not know what Rizal did at night or on the days he was not in the library, some people would like to believe Rizal is a suspect. They argue that when Rizal left London, the Ripper murders stopped. They say that Jack the Ripper must have had some medical training, based on the way his victims were mutilated. Rizal, of course, was a doctor. Jack the Ripper liked women, and so did our own Rizal. And -- this is so obvious that many overlooked it -- Jose Rizal's initials match those of Jack the Ripper!

Infos

Actually the case was still unsolved. Till now everything about it is a speculation. Here's a brief information about Rizal and the Ripper in London:

Jose Rizal
Jack the Ripper
He was a doctor. (An ophthalmologist particularly) He is suspected to be a doctor (the removal of the victims’ organs implied anatomical knowledge).
He is a multi-talented person and could even speak English fluently. The Ripper is an Englishmen.
Rizal lived in Beckett family at Crescent, London. Ripper killed prostitutes in Whitechapel, London.
He is known for having many lovers. His victims are all women.
Rizal copied, by hand, the book Sucesos de las Islas Filipinas at daylight. Ripper killed prostitutes always at night time in the East End.
Rizal is a Freemason. In the word 'Juwes', which might mean Freemason, makes him related somehow to it.
He leaves London in January, 1889. On July, 1889, another victim was believed to be killed by the Ripper.
Jose Rizal's initial is JR. Jack the Ripper's initial is also JR.

This is the events that happened in London at the time when Jose Rizal and Jack the Ripper was in the said city. (In chronological order.)

-----
July, 1889
-----
After nine months from the last Ripper killing, Alice Mackenzie was murdered, and once claimed as a Ripper victim, although the police did not think so at the time.
-----
There were fifteen leading candidates for the true identity of Jack the Ripper. Three of them were highly suspected, namely Montague Druitt; 'Kosminski’, a Polish Jew; and ‘Michael Ostrog, a Russian doctor.’ All were documented in MacNaghten Memorandum. But the more highly suspected and convincing of the three is Montague Druitt.[2][3]
[1]The book tells a fair presentation of a 16th century Philippine culture and civilization. (If you notice some defects in Filipino race, maybe you read the book yourself in order to make a better judgment of the present.)

[2]There appeared to be a good deal of evidence linking him with the Ripper. In 1913, Macnaghten told the Daily Mail that he had ‘a very clear idea’ who the Ripper was but had ‘destroyed all the documents and there is now no record of the secret information which came into my possession at one time or another.’ A journalist with good police contacts, G.R. Sims, stated in 1903 that ‘the body of the man suspected by the chiefs of Scotland Yard, and by his own friends, who were in communication with the Yard, was found in the Thames.’ Druitt indeed committed suicide in the Thames around November 30th, 1888, shortly after being dismissed as a schoolteacher in Blackheath, and three weeks after the last Ripper murder. Druitt, who was also a barrister, had chambers at King’s Bench Walk, within walking distance of the East End, and apparently had a cousin who was a doctor with offices in the Minories, on the border of the East End.

[3]In some sources, the evidences pointed James Maybrick to be Jack the Ripper. Well, all or almost all of the evidence pointing him are highly convincing making him the killer.

Other things about Jose Rizal:
  • He was a Malay.

  • He would have been 27 years old at the time of the Ripper killings.

  • He was short, had dark skin, dark hair, and dark eyes.

  • He came from a well to do family, was well dressed and looked respectable.

  • He was executed in the Philippines on December 30, 1896 at the age of 35.

  • Had a romantic relationship with Gertrude Beckett - daughter of Charles Beckett.

  • After he died, his mother tried to procure his assets which consisted of some pretty nice jewelry including gold cuff links and other baubles of diamonds and amethysts (gold chain with a red stone seal?)

  • Conclusion:

Well, as soon as Jack the Ripper is still unknown, no one can say that Jose Rizal isn't him. We, Filipinos see this intelligent little guy a hero, good, patriot, and brave man for writing Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. Are we so sure that there is no bad side of him? If you notice, in El Fili, Simoun is brave, dark and vengeful who thinks of killing the influential people in Paulita and Juanito Pelaez's wedding day. I don't mean anything. I just open some possibilities which make him suspect of being JACK THE RIPPER.

However, if it is true that Alice Mackenzie was indeed one of Jack the Ripper's victims, then probably Jose Rizal was not him because at the time she was killed, Jose Rizal was not present anymore in London. Aside of that, there is no strong evidence to prove that he is the Ripper. They don't even have a connection with each other. I personally believe he is NOT.

I asked my professor in 'The Life of Jose Rizal' once about this intriguing controversy. She didn't tell me exactly if she do believe that Dr. Jose Rizal is indeed Jack the Ripper. She told me that even the most silent person in the world do have a secret, and Rizal might be one of them. She also told me that there are some proofs that point him to be the killer, but not too strong to hold the claim. I asked her what proofs, but she just became silent and closed the topic eventually. I don't know if she knew something. But one thing for sure, as long as Jack the Ripper is still not identified, claims of his identity will just rose from nowhere.

I highly advise you to search for yourself information that disproves the legend, not to prove it. You know its embarrassing if you believe he is. Jose Rizal is the perfect picture of a true Filipino, not only for being small but for being just HIM - patriot, talented, multi-lingual ... name it. Remember, Ninoy Aquino died the same reason why our national hero die for. I can't imagine if my favorite hero is a killer. I don't know if you feel the same way too.

    Latest Findings

Last 2012, I created an article about Jose Rizal as Jack the Ripper (see above). I even casted possible evidence of his settlement in England, and what he really was doing there. Aside of that, I also cited Jack the Ripper's activities at the same time when Jose Rizal was present in the country, and his identity being a murderer. I even give possible suspects according to the investigation made.

There are four highly suspected identity of Jack the Ripper. They are Montague Druitt; 'Kosminski’, a Polish Jew; Michael Ostrog, a Russian doctor; and James Maybrick. Obviously, investigators never thought a Filipino man named Jose Rizal should also be suspected with this. However, according to the latest investigation, the Polish Jew named Kosminski is the most probable true identity of Jack the Ripper.

    Who is Kosminski?

Aaron Kosminski (or Aron Mordke Kozmiński) was a Polish Jew who was suspected as the real Jack the Ripper. He emigrated to England from the Russian Poland in 1880s. In Whitechapel, East of London, he worked as a hairdresser, the same place where the murders happened.

He was born on September 11, 1865, and died on March 24, 1919. He was born in Kłodawa in Congress Poland, now part of the Russian Empire. His parents were Abram Józef Kozmiński, a tailor, and his wife Golda née Lubnowska.

Aaron was institutionalized because of his illness in an insane asylum.

He had been ill since at least 1885. He had an auditory hallucination that time. The cause of his insanity was recorded as "self-abuse", which is thought to be a euphemism for masturbation. His poor diet seems to have kept him in an emaciated state for years; his low weight was recorded in the asylum case notes. By February 1919, he weighed just 96 pounds (44 kg), and died the following month, aged 53, caused by gangrene.

    Studies: The Beginning

Sir Melville Macnagthen is the one who named Kosmiski as suspect of the Ripper murder case. Then Sir Robert Anderson, on his memoir 'The Lighter Side of My Official Life' also claimed Kosminski as the killer.

In the next following years, many investigators and authors had tried to solve the case. However, the defense against the prosecutors became very strong. Accordingly, Jack the Ripper is an Englishman or a good English speaker, which supposedly the key to persuading the victim to go to a dark alley, but Aaron Kosminski in the asylum preferred to speak his native language (Yiddish) indicating that he is a poor English speaker. He showed no sign of violent behavior except in two occasions when he threatened his sister with a knife. Ripper was also alleged to be a doctor while Kosminski isn't.

    Studies: The Present

British author Russel Edwards commissioned Dr. Jari Louhelainen, a molecular biologist, to carry out a forensic study on a silk shawl supposedly owned by Catherine Eddowes, one of the Ripper victim. Dr. Jari conducted a DNA testing by extracting mitochondrial DNA on the shawl, matching it with the female descendants of both Eddowes (named Karen Miller) and Aaron Kosminski's sister.

Later on, crime enthusiasts from Australia noticed a nomenclature error on Dr. Jari's DNA testing. In other words, this error only mean that Kosmisnki and Eddowes have no connection, opening again the debate of the century.

Accordingly, Dr. Jari managed to extract an incomplete fragment on the shawl and tried matching it on Karen Miller's DNA. Actually, his complete work was not published, and the only detailed description of Dr. Jari's testing comes from Edwards' book. In addition to that, his testing was not yet subject to peer review of another scientist like him.

    Afterword

This doesn't mean that Jose Rizal is still a possible suspect by just having an error in the DNA analysis made by Dr. Jari Louhelainen. The fact that they never considered Jose Rizal is a simple and conclusive evidence that he is NOT Jack the Ripper. I even doubt if they know our hero.

The mystery of Jack the Ripper's identity will someday be revealed through much more complicated and modern forensic techniques. We already have DNA testing right now, thus on the near future, a much futuristic way will finally reveal it.

    9. You who believe in this theory has nothing but a brain as small as pea, they call it pea-brain and dick-head. To believe that a person like Rizal who would risk his life to protect the honor of a woman will be Jack the Ripper is downright outrageous and disrespect the National Hero of the Philippines. I doubt whether you are Filipino. You dont even know that the Official National Hero of the Philippines is Rizal. A man in the stature of Rizal who is a friend of many great men in those hard times, who cured people and help people in Dapitan, who was brave to defend his innocence against Spain, and who is a genius with prophetic mind can even do such evil deeds as you try to convince the readers of this blog. Rizal was of many talents he has no lost time and would spend writing not just letters but but many ideas. As written in his diary, he would write at night and when he is not writing he would do sculpture works while in London and socialize with new found friends. Jack the Ripper to escape detection after killing must be knowledgeable of London which is for a first timer like Rizal would be like a maze. One can get lost in London if you have not been there. So even that alone, its impossible for Rizal to be the Ripper such he was new and didn't know London. He could have easily been caught. Jack the Ripper is one who lived and died in London and certainly that's not Rizal idiot.

"One can get lost if you have not been there." <- So he is not Rizal?
"He could have easily been caught." <- That does not prove anything.
"A man in the stature of Rizal..." <- Fool. There are noble killers. That doesn't cross Rizal out.
"Rizal was of many talents he has no lost time..." <- Being talented doesn't make you a suspect?
"I doubt whether you are Filipino." <- Being not as ignorant as you and being open to possibility determines your nationality?

By all means, you are an idiot. Speaking in English with a long paragraph or nonsense? Yeah. That proves a lot.

Jose Rizal was a great man, he died for his beloved country the Philippines, that is a fact. suggesting that he is Jack the Ripper seems far fetched. but thinking logically, we can never really be sure, can we??? we weren't there when all this happened. also remember, every person has his/her own dark secrets, that includes Jose Rizal. so until a solid evidence comes up, the real identity of Jack the Ripper will never be known......

    17. Satanism is a vital philosophy which asks you to take your fate in your own hands--break the barriers that confine you--sweep aside all that is smothering you--realize your full innate power. The most important commandment of Satanism is: Satanism demands study - not worship.

Satan does not need to receive worship to achieve his goals. All he has to do is to keep a man from following Jesus. Satan knows that anyone who does not follow in the teachings of Jesus does not have God. (2 John 9)

    18. The knowledge that Jesus offers is not the same as the 'knowledge' that the Illuminati offers. Christ tried to teach us the power of love, grace, forgiveness, and goodness, and He tried to teach us how to reconnect to God the Father. The knowledge of the Illuminati is the same old 'new age' crap that the serpent used to trick Eve in the garden of eden... the false believe that we can become as God. They view our God as only an advanced being and that with enough knowledge and development anybody can become like Him. That's worked out really well for Lucifer so far...

The sight Jesus was referring to was an advanced understanding of the importance of love. Humans did not understand love during His last visit, they only understood obedience to rules and rituals. His message was a vision that most could not see and could not understand because they were blind to love.

What value is there in worshiping yourself? Anything that is, came from the one Creator, and only the Creator deserves our worship.

    25. Jack the Ripper, the mystery serial killer who terrorised London prostitutes in the late 19th century, was a Polish immigrant barber, according to a new book which analysed DNA samples from the time.

While the ripper's true identity has remained unknown for more than a century, suspects have over the years included members of the royal family and prime ministers.

However Russell Edwards, an independent investigator, says that DNA from a shawl recovered from the scene of one of the ripper's deeds matched relatives of both the victim and suspect, Aaron Kosminski.

Edwards said it was beyond doubt that Kosminski was behind the at least five killings in 1888.

The shawl reportedly belonged to victim, Catherine Eddowes. It was said to have been kept by a police officer investigating the scene of Eddowe's murder and later passed to his descendants, until it was acquired by Edwards at auction in 2007.

He then enlisted the help of a molecular biologist Jari Louhelainen, of Liverpool John Moores University, to conduct DNA tests.

Working on the blood stains, he matched DNA on the shawl to that of Karen Miller, a direct descendant of Eddowes.

Meanwhile stains on the material suggested the presence of bodily fluid, which Louhelained was able to match to a descendant of Kosminski, the AFP news agency reported.

Kosminski was identified as a suspect but there was never enough evidence to bring him to trial. He died in 1899 after contracting gangrene in his leg.

Edwards' book is released on Tuesday.

However, Some scientists, including Professor Alec Jeffreys, who invented the DNA fingerprinting, called for further verification.

The research has not been published a peer-reviewed scientific journal, meaning the claims cannot be independently verified or the methodology scrutinised.

    27. Aaron Kosminski (born Aron Mordke Kozminski; 11 September 1865 – 24 March 1919) was a Polish Jew who was admitted to Colney Hatch Lunatic Asylum in 1891.[19] "Kosminski" (without a forename) was named as a suspect by Melville Macnaghten in his 1894 memorandum and by former Chief Inspector Donald Swanson in handwritten comments in the margin of his copy of Assistant Commissioner Sir Robert Anderson's memoirs. Anderson wrote that a Polish Jew had been identified as the Ripper but that no prosecution was possible because the witness was also Jewish and refused to testify against a fellow Jew. Some authors are skeptical of this, while others use it in their theories. In his memorandum, Macnaghten stated that no one was ever identified as the Ripper, which directly contradicts Anderson's recollection. In 1987, Ripper author Martin Fido searched asylum records for any inmates called Kosminski, and found only one: Aaron Kosminski. Kosminski lived in Whitechapel;however, he was largely harmless in the asylum. His insanity took the form of auditory hallucinations, a paranoid fear of being fed by other people, and a refusal to wash or bathe. In his book, The Cases That Haunt Us, former FBI profiler John Douglas states that a paranoid individual such as Kosminski would likely have openly boasted of the murders while incarcerated had he been the killer, but there is no record that he ever did so. In 2014, DNA analysis claimed to have proved Kosminski's semen was on a victim's scarf, but this evidence and conclusion have not been subject to peer review.

Aaron Kosminski, A Freemason?? NOT! So, therefore, not the suspect. Try harder! We might be deceived. :)

      3. "A great deal is at stake if the Establishment considers it necessary to operate a full scale cover-up," writes Knight. "For the truth of the Jack the Ripper affair to have been painstakingly concealed can mean nothing less than State security was at risk, or that someone high in the Government or the Royal Family was involved."

Author Stephen Knight, in his out of print masterpiece, "Jack the Ripper: The Final Solution," explains how Britain's entire political system at the end of the 19th century was threatened by the hidden facts -- Prince Albert Victor ("Eddy") was not only bisexual, but he had married a Roman Catholic girl and fathered a child with her. Evidently these debaucheries were so scandalous that the Ruling Class would not abide even the slightest hint of this revelation.

When a group of working girls (Annie Chapman, Marie Kelly, Elizabeth Stride and Mary Nichols) decided to blackmail the Royals, the Marquess of Salisbury, then Prime Minister, had to take care of the problem. He entrusted Sir William Gull, physician and abortionist to the Royal Family, for the mission.

One of the country's most prominent Freemasons, Gull understood that "Freemasonry was the power behind the Government and it was the unseen influence of the Masonic elders which dictated major policies, not the pleasing façade of Commons debate."

The deliberately engineered panic, i.e., the murder of five prostitutes, was done according to Masonic ritual. The ritual murder and disembowelment "met with such ghastly success because of the audacity with which they were executed," said Walter Sickert, Knight's informant whose painter-father had intimate knowledge of the Cleveland Street murders. This so-called "audacity" is a trademark of Masonic "mischief-making."

"Freemasons applaud violence, terror and crime, provided it is carried out in a crafty manner," writes Knight. "Humor is all important and the most appalling crimes may be committed under its cloak."

In fact, one of the key Masonic insights into human nature, says Knight, is the reaction of people to terrorism and serial ritual murders executed with great skill. In other words, people will marvel and say, "What a dirty trick, but how skillfully executed. What a swindle, but how well and with what courage it has been done."

The greatest deceive of Satan is to allow people to think that his presence doesn't Exist. Some people are just to dumbfounded and ignorants. Keep feeding Lies and ill pay you back with Truth!

The case remains one of the world's greatest unsolved murder mysteries and over the years many suspects have been brought into the frame including Prince Albert Victor, Queen Victoria's grandson; Sir William Gull, the Queen's physician; and Sir Walter Sickert, a renowned painter of the time.

Rizal (JR) arrived in Liverpool on May 24, 1888 then boarded a train
to London He stayed in part with the Beckett Family in an affluent
place in London. Now read over my shoulder the news headlines that
dominated London. The most vicious crime of the century that started few days after his arrival. These were the accepted victims of Jack the Ripper

    32. Thank you for the new information about Aaron Kosminski ... But don't discredit my integrity as a writer. First of all, the latest findings were unfolded just recently - September 2014, while this article was created on February 17, 2012. I wasn't updated because of some events that happened to me this year. I will revise the article... Don't worry.

    33. The shawl used for DNA sampling "is of dubious origin and has been handled by several people who could have shared that mitochondrial DNA profile.
Judging from the evidences laid out. The possibility of Rizal being Jack the Ripper is a bit higher compared to Kosminski.

    36. leonardo da vinci is a good guy too and it was recorded that he did the same thing when he studied anatomy/human physiology ... being men of science, rizal or da vinci must have had enough reason to possibly do these heinous acts for the sake of science...

    37. Every great man is entitled to his own vice. I'd hate it if Rizal was collecting stamps. Genghis Khan (a hero among the Mongols), Alexander the great (hero among the Romans), Adolf Hitler (hero among his Nazi sympathizer) what do they all have in common, KILLLING... nuff said

    38. Serial killers dont just start then stop just because they changed countries.
This is hwy they are serial killers, they cant help themselves, they have to kill over and over again.
Jose Rizal wasnt connected to any muRders here in the Philippines because there were no murders of the same nature as that of Jack the rIPPER that happened here in the Philippines.
Not before Rizal left then Not after Rizal returned.

    39. bong, what you described was a genocidal maniac and your opinion on murder records are undeniably naive. Considering you're in this site, which is dedicated pretty much on all supernatural.
(don't go all hulk on me now... hear me out...)

Serial killers choose thier targets carefully. They are very smart, cunning and stunningly charismatic.
(whoa... it fits him perfe... ahem!)

Anyway, let's say this UL is true... then maybe all that experience as JTR might have led him to be more intuitive than most of the common folk during his time. Making him stealthier and deadlier on his approach...
      (wow! like a ninja!)

Perhaps the way he executed prostitutes in London, if done in the Philippines and due to the nature of the killings, a passerby would easily deduct on a crime scene and say that this is a victim of an Aswang...
      (ugh... an ugly ninja...)

      Hmmm...
      No murder records...
      But...

      Aswang crime scene descriptions:
Victims are always reported missing organs.
To the untrained eye victims would appear to be disemboweled.

      Clever cover up? Unlikely.
Then again, I am assuming they'd have that conclusion, since the extent of educational attainment of the average person at that time could be next to nothing or that of a kindergartener.
(can we get back on the ninja? coz this is getting sad...)

      Also take note.
People are not dumb but, at that time, since they were inexplicably oppressed and unbelievably driven to illiteracy. They'd eat up stories immediately like "Aswangs did it!" hence became absolute and not worth of\or just lacking any sort of investigative counter measure. (blah..blah..blah...)

Furthermore, they needed someone with a stature like that of Rizal's to go along with the plan to overthrow the Spanish regime.
Thus, completely diverting any attention from said crimes. (gasp! egad!)

Distinguished as a noble while secret supporter of the oppressed, and even gained an equal footing in spanish socialite classes. Without a doubt, anyone saying such heinous claims againts him would've been ridiculed. (it's the perfect cover... noble ninja!)

Of course, these are nothing but speculations.
(wut da heck choo talkin' bout foo'!?)

It is said however, that we are capable of great things.
Then certainly, no one needs to know the bad.(cough..cough...politicians...right...ahem...)

This urban legend will definitely make anyone rethink their knowledge of history. Kudos!
(didn't he stayed in japan too?! pinoy ninja! yeboi!)

      1. Don't speak in finality. There are tons of possibilities. We, or rather I, am not saying that he is but all we're saying is that there is a possibility.

    41. I have read your article and am thrilled to see how you kept it updated up to the present time. I know that this is one hell of a theory and as a Filipino, it would be difficult to picture our National Hero as a murderer or even as a suspect.

I am a Filipino as well, pure and proud.

But look at it this way. We do not know the entirety of Jose Rizal's life story. What we know are bits and records that we see on books and online. Yet how sure are we that those are accurate? How sure are we that what we see are the complete record of his activities? No one knows that for sure as what we see on books and online could have been manipulated. We would never be sure. History is tricky business as who could only attest to the events are those who lived it. Just as no one can really tell your life story in complete accuracy than yourself.

I am not saying this out of anything but mere objectivity. As I have read, you were very adamant that our National Hero is and never will be Jack the Ripper. I am not saying that there are solid proof that he is or that there is a huge possibility that he is. It is a mere theory that was developed out of details that were connecting him to the crime.

I would not disrespect our National Hero and point a finger at him. Once again, it is a theory.

But objectively speaking, it seems like a possibility that should not be completely ruled out as there are factors to believe that he COULD BE and not IS/WAS, right?

This is an interesting theory to read more about, in all honesty, and I think that is what I will do now.

    42. Murders started on April 3, 1888, not August 31. Rizal was not yet in London when the killings started.
